Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: If dust is inhaled, move subject to an area of fresh air,
loosen clothing and rest. If signs of distress or
discomfort, seek medical advice.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If
signs of dscomfort, seek medical advice.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash affected areas with soap and water. Remove any
contaminated clothing and wash with detergents before
re-use. If signs of discomfort, seek medical advice.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Rinse mouth and drink plenty of milk of water. Vomiting may
be induced under medical supervision. Seek medical advice
if signs of ill health or discomfort.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Water foam, chemical foam, carbon dioxide and chemical
powder extinguishing agents may be used. There is no known
adverse reaction with any normal extinguishing agents.
Product arising from burning: Carbon dioxide is the ultimate product in the presence of
adequate oxygen, although partial combustion may lead to the
production of volatile carbon/nitrogen componds and carbon
monoxide. Chlorine and sulphate salts are expected products
of combustion.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: No special equipment considered to be necessary other than
standard equipment recommended for chemical fires. If water
is to be used, care must be taken to avoid run-off into
surface water.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Sweep up and collect in a suitably labelled container and
dispose of as chemical waste. Avoid the generation of dust.
The area may be flushed with water, avoiding run-off into
water courses or drainage systems other than those leading
to treatment facilities.
Safety precautions as recomended in section 2.3.00 should be
followed.
Handling and storage
Handling: Precautions should be taken against inhalation of any dust
formed to include dust mask and LEV as appropriate.
Otherwise, neoprene or other suitable gloves, coveralls and
goggles should be worn.
As with all organic powders, precautions should be taken
against dust explosion, such as ensuring that all equipment
is suitably earthed and that there is no source of ignition
when being handled.
Storage: Store dry under ambient conditions. No special precautions.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Packaged in a variety of plastic lined fibre drums, up to a
maximum 100 kg.

Stability and reactivity
Danger other than fire: No known reactivity leading to hazardous products.
Chemical reaction with water: No reactivity with water leading to hazardous products.
However, the substance is thought to at least partially
hydrolyse in water.
Dust explosion: As with many organic powders, the risk of explosion
following ignition of the dust under certain circumstances
cannot be ignored. Precautions should be taken to avoid the
generation of build-up of dust and to ensure that there are
no sources of ignition.

Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance is consumed during use and cannot be recycled.
Spilled or contaminated material cannot be re-used and must
be disposed of.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Residues may be safely disposed by this method if dilution
factors indicate that there is no direct risk to organisms.
Otherwise, there should be no discharge to the environment.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None recommended. Landfill may be appropriate for low-level
waste such as used packaging or contaminated sludge from the
WWTP.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable to the general public.
