Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air, seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Irrigate with running water immediately and continuously
for 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with plenty of soap and water. Seek medical attention
if irritation develops.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Immediately seek medical attention
and/or transport to an emergency facility.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Recommended extinguishing agents: Water fog, carbon
dioxide, foam and dry chemical may be used. Contain any
run-off from fire control operations.

Product arising from burning: Products arising from pyrolysis: Combustion products may
contain carbon and nitrogen oxides and toxic and irritant
fumes. Keep containers cool by spraying with water.

Protective equipment: Protective equipment: Wear protective clothing and a
positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear protective equipment (cf. 2.3.1), a self-contained
breathing apparatus may be required if atmospheric dust is
present. Small spills should be swept up for disposal by
incineration. Large spills should be retained by
barricade/bunding to prevent material from entering sewers,
ditches and water systems before collection and disposal by
incineration. Contaminated material (eg soil) should be
removed for incineration.

Handling and storage

Handling: Engineering controls should be used where possible (eg
loading, emptying, washing reactor vessel). Ensure good
ventilation to minimise dust levels. If necessary, wear an
approved dust respirator and coveralls (wash protective
clothing regularly). Goggles and gloves should be worn if
direct contact with the substance is envisaged. Take care
to minimise spillage during handling/formulation (use a
bunded facility with adequate storage capacity for
containment of spillages and fire control operations).

Storage: Store in original containers in a well-ventilated storage
facility. Prevent public access and protect from the
weather. The storage facility should be bunded with
adequate storage capacity for containment of spillages and
fire control operations.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Other dangers: Avoid high temperatures, open flames and
sparks. Avoid contact with strong acids, bases and
oxidising materials.

Chemical reaction with water: Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Technical material may be collected and returned to the
notifier.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No method known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Technical material and formulated product should be
incinerated. A temperature of 1200 deg C and 2 second
residence time is recommended. Waste gas treatment to
remove nitrogen oxides should be used.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not possible.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Formulated material may be disposed of as domestic waste.
