First-aid measures

Ingestion: No particular first aid measures are generally required. Immediate medical attention is normally not needed.
Skin contact: No particular first aid measures are generally required. Immediate medical attention is normally not needed.
Eye contact: Flush eyes with water. Seek medical attention if irritation occurs. Inhalation: Remove from area of exposure; seek medical attention if symptoms occur.

Fire-fighting measures

Specific hazards: Combustion is likely to give rise to a complex mixture of airborne solid and liquid particulates and gases, including carbon monoxide, acroleine and unidentified organic and inorganic compounds.
Extinguishing media: Foam and dry chemical powder. Carbon dioxide, sand or earth may be used for small fires only.Not suitable: Water in a jet. Water stream may splash the burning liquid and spread fire.
Fire and hazards: Oil soaked rags or insulating materials can cause spontaneous combustion if not handled properly.
Explosion potential: Potential of dust explosion or ignition does exist with finely divided solids or spray when the concentration reaches the right level. Hot liquid may splash with water.
Protective equipment: Fire-fighters should use proper protective equipment including self-contained breathing apparatus to avoid exposure to smoke and vapour.

Accidental release measures

Precautions: In heated condition risk of splattering in case of contact with water. Be aware of slippery surface.
Environmental precautions: Prevent draining into open water. Collect spilled material and dispose of in accordance with local regulations, preferably by incineration.
Methods for cleaning: Spillages and uncontrolled discharges should be kept separately, and processed as waste. Wash hard surfaces with detergent to remove remaining oil film.
Other information: Spillages or uncontrolled discharges into watercourses must be alerted to the appropriate regulatory body.

Handling and storage

Handling: Palletised drums and pails should be handled carefully. Stacking of more than two pallets on top of one another should be avoided.
Storage: The packaged product should be stored in an odourless, clean, cool and dry place. Direct exposure to light should be avoided.

Exposure controls / personal protection
