Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

- If inhalded: If breathed in, move person into fresh air. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
- In case of skin contact: Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Wash off immediately with plenty of water. If symptoms persist, call a physician. Wash contaminated clothing before re-use.
- In case of eye contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 5 minutes. Remove contact lenses. If eye irritation persists, consult a specialist.
- If swallowed: If swallowed, rinse mouth with water (only if the person is con-scious). Call a physician immediately.- General advice:
Most important symptoms and effects: tremors
- Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed: treat symptomatically

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable extinguishing media: Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment
- Unsuitable extinguishing media: Water spray jet
- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
Specific hazards during fire-fighting: Not combustible. Avoid generating dust; fine dust dispersed in air in sufficient concentrations, and in the presence of an ignition source is a potential dust explosion hazard. Heating can release hazardous gases.
Hazardous combustion products: Nitrogen oxides (NOx), carbon oxides, sulphur oxides, hydrogen chloride gas
- Advice for fire fighter:
Special protective equipment for firefighters: In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus. Firefighters must wear fire resistant personal protective equipment.
Further information: In the event of fire, cool tanks with water spray. Avoid dust formation.

Accidental release measures

- Personal precautions: Evacuate personnel to safe areas. Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition. Avoid breathing dust. Avoid dust formation.
- Environmental precautions: Should not be released into the environment. Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system.
- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Sweep up and shovel into suitable containers for disposal. Pick up and arrange disposal without creating dust. Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal. Keep in properly labelled containers.

Handling and storage

- Precautions for safe handling:
Advice on safe handling: Ensure all equipment is electrically grounded before beginning transfer operations. To avoid thermal decomposition, do not overheat.
Use personal protective equipment as required. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition. Avoid formation of dust and aerosols.
Hygiene measures: Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.
Dust explosion class: St1
- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
Requirements for storage areas and containers: To maintain product quality, do not store in heat or direct sun-light. Store in original container. Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition. Store at room temperature.
Recommended storage temperature: 15-25°C

Exposure controls / personal protection

Technical protection measures
Engineering controls should be used as the primary means to control possible exposures. Use process enclosures, local exhaust ventilation or other engineering controls to keep exposure levels below recommended exposure limits.

Hand protection
Material: Nitrile rubber/Neoprene
Remarks: Long sleeve gloves. Take note of the information given by the producer concerning permeability and break through times, and of special workplace conditions (mechanical strain, dura-tion of contact).

Body protection
Closed work clothing
Long sleeved clothing

Eye protection
Face-shield

Respiratory protection
Engineering controls should always be the primary method of controlling exposures.
If respiratory protective equipment is needed for certain activi-ties, the type as well as the corresponding protection factor will depend upon the risk assessment and air concentrations, hazards, physical and warning properties of substances present.
Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in all circumstanc-es when the mask and cartridge do not give adequate protec-tion (e.g. : medium confinement/insufficient oxygen/in case of large uncontrolled emissions).
Use only respiratory protection that conforms to international/ national standards.

Protective measures
The type of protective equipment must be selected according to the concentration and amount of the dangerous substance at the specific workplace.

Stability and reactivity

1. Reactivity
None reasonably foreseeable
2. Chemical stability
Stable under recommended storage conditions
3. Possibility of hazardous reactions
Risk of dust explosion
4. Conditions to avoid
To avoid thermal decomposition, do not overheat. Heat, flames and sparks. Exposure to sunlight. Exposure to moisture Exposure to light.
5. Incompatible materials
No data available
6. Hazardous decomposition products
Carbon monoxide, Sulphur oxides, Nitrogen oxides (NOx), HCl

Disposal considerations

Dispose of as hazardous waste in compliance with local and national regulations.
Must be incinerated in a suitable incineration plant holding a permit delivered by the competent authorities.
