Description of key information

The TLM-EqP modeling has been validated as a suitable method for predicting effect values in sediment and soil organisms. The TLM-EqP predicted 28-day effect values for 2,4,4 -trimethylpentene were 103.729 and 19.871 mg/kg soil dw for short-term (LL50) and long-term effects (NOELR), respectively.

Additional information

This substance is considered to have a Soil Hazard Category 4 classification as it is considered persistent and has a log Kow of 5. Using the EPM method for deriving soil PNECs and following an exposure assessment the resulting RCRs are all <1 (see CSR in Section 13). However,  A long-term terrestrial test is required to confirm that further terrestrial studies are not required.
