Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. Call a POISON

CENTER or doctor/physician.

Skin contact: Remove/Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Gently wash with plenty of soap and water.

Eye contact: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do.

Ingestion: Rinse mouth

Call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Dry chemical, foam, water spray, carbon dioxide.

Specific hazards arising from the

chemical:

Take care as it may decompose upon combustion or in high temperatures to generate poisonous fume.

Hazardous combustion products: These products include: Carbon oxides Nitrogen oxides Halogenated compounds

Other specific hazards: WARNING: Highly toxic HCl gas is produced during combustion.

Advice for firefighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus if possible.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:

Use personal protective equipment. Keep people away from and upwind of spill/leak. Entry to non-involved personnel should be controlled around the leakage area by roping off, etc.

Environmental precautions: Prevent product from entering drains.

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up: Sweep dust to collect it into an airtight container, taking care not to disperse it. Adhered or collected

material should be promptly disposed of, in accordance with appropriate laws and regulations

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling: Handling is performed in a well ventilated place. Wear suitable protective equipment. Prevent dispersion of dust. Wash hands and face thoroughly after handling.

Use a closed system if possible. Use a local exhaust if dust or aerosol will be generated.

Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Storage conditions: Keep container tightly closed. Store in a cool and dark place. Store locked up.

Store away from incompatible materials such as oxidizing agents.

Packaging material: Comply with laws.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Appropriate engineering controls: Follow safe industrial engineering/laboratory practices when handling any chemical. Install a closed system or local exhaust. Also install safety shower and eye bath.

Personal protective equipment

Respiratory protection: Dust respirator, self-contained breathing apparatus(SCBA), supplied air respirator, etc. Use respirators approved under appropriate government standards and follow local and national regulations.

Hand protection: Impervious gloves.

Eye protection: Safety goggles. A face-shield, if the situation requires.

Skin and body protection: Impervious protective clothing. Protective boots, if the situation requires.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: No data available

Chemical stability: Stable under proper conditions.

Possibility of hazardous reactions: No special reactivity has been reported.

Incompatible materials: Oxidizing agents

Hazardous decomposition products: Carbon dioxide, Carbon monoxide, Nitrogen oxides (NOx), Hydrogen chloride

Disposal considerations

Disposal of product: Recycle to process if possible. It is the generator's responsibility to comply with Federal, State and

Local rules and regulations. You may be able to dissolve or mix material with a combustible solvent

and burn in a chemical incinerator equipped with an afterburner and scrubber system. This section is

intended to provide assistance but does not replace these laws, nor does compliance in accordance

with this section ensure regulatory compliance according to the law. US EPA guidelines for

Identification and Listing of Hazardous Waste are listed in 40 CFR Parts 261. The product should not

be allowed to enter the environment, drains, water ways, or the soil.

Disposal of container: Dispose of as unused product. Do not re-use empty containers.

Other considerations: Observe all federal, state and local regulations when disposing of the substance.
