First-aid measures

Inhalation
Move the exposed person to fresh air at once. Perform artificial respiration if breathing has stopped. For breathing difficulties oxygen may be necessary. Get medical attention.
Ingestion
NEVER MAKE AN UNCONSCIOUS PERSON VOMIT OR DRINK FLUIDS! Get medical attention. Immediately rinse mouth and provide fresh air.
Skin contact
Remove affected person from source of contamination. Promptly wash contaminated skin with soap or mild detergent and water. Promptly remove clothing if soaked through and wash as above. Get medical attention immediately!
Eye contact
Promptly wash eyes with plenty of water while lifting the eye lids. Get medical attention immediately. Continue to rinse.
General information
Absorption into the body leads tot he formation of methemoglobin which in sufficient concentration causes cyanosis. onset may be delayed 2 to 4 hours or longer.
Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed.

Extinguish with alcohol-resistant foam, carbon dioxide, dry powder or water fog.

Carbon monoxide (CO). Carbon dioxide (CO2). Nitrous gases (NOx).

Use supplied air respirator if product is involved in a fire. Use special protective clothing. Regular protection may not be safe.
Protective equipment for fire-fighters
Self contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing must be worn in case of fire.

Evacuate area. Avoid dust generation Avoid inhalation of dust and vapours.
Environmental precautions
Do not discharge into drains, water courses or onto the ground. Spillages or uncontrolled discharges into watercourses must be IMMEDIATELY alerted to the Environmental Agency or other appropriate regulatory body.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
Sweep up, place in a bag and hold for waste disposal. Avoid raising dust. Ventilate well. Wash spill site with water. Collect powder using special dust vacuum cleaner with particle filter or carefully sweep into closed container. Hold for waste disposal.

Precautions for safe handling
Avoid spilling, skin and eye contact. Keep away from heat, sparks and open flame. Eliminate all sources of ignition.
Avoid inhalation of dust and contact with skin and eyes. Mechanical ventilation or local exhaust ventilation is required.
Avoid spreading dust.

Keep containers tightly closed.
