Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

No sediment toxicity tests are available for tetramethylthiuram disulfide (CAS No. 137-26-8). Tetramethylthiuram disulfide (CAS No. 137-26-8) has a moderate to high adsorption potential (log Koc of 3.3 -4-4). According to the Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment (chapter R.7b, Endpoint Specific Guidance, ECHA 2017) the environmental risk assessment for the sediment compartment can be performed based on the equilibrium portioning method. The substance is not highly insoluble or ionisable. All RCR values (PEC/PNECscreen) for the sediment compartment were < 0.1. Thus, according to the Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment (chapter R.7b, Endpoint Specific Guidance, ECHA 2017) and according to Annex XI, Section 3 of Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 no sediment toxicity test is required (please refer to Chapter 9 and 10 of the Chemical Safety Report for detailed information). Furthermore, aquatic toxicity studies for all trophic levels did not identify invertebrates as the most sensitive trophic level. Based on these information a further toxicity study with sediment organisms is not justified.
