Self-heating substance:

An endothermic effect was recorded begining at 150 °C to 170 °C with the maximum at about 160 °C. The wire mesh basket was empty after the measurement. No exothermic effects were recorded up to a temperature of 220 °C. No further test was necessary.

Bispenol A is not a self-heating substance according to the criteria of the UNRecommendations on the transport of dangerous goods.

Corrosivity to metals:

The structural formula of Bisphenol A shows no chemical groups, especially acidic hydrogen, that causes corrosivity to metals.

So it can be excluded, that Bispenol A is corrosive to metals in the sense of the test guidline UN C.1, which is cited in GHS chapter 2.16.

Executive summary:

The substance is stable. The substance shows no chemical groups, special acidic hydrogen, that cause a corrosivity to metals and, thus, it can be excluded that the substance is corrosive to metals in the sense of the test guideline UN C.1 which is cited in GHS chapter 2.16. According to the criteria of UN recommendations on the transport of dangerous goods UN N.4 which is cited in the GHS chapter 2.11 the substance is not self-heating.

Description of key information

The substance is stable. There are no structural groups indicating corrosive behaviour to metals. The substance melted at 150 °C in the Grewer test. Thus, a UN N.4 test is not applicable.
