Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Type:
log Pow
Partition coefficient:
> 6.2
Temp.:
22 °C
pH:
ca. 6
Remarks on result:
other: start minimum value 2.7
Details on results:
Esterol A gives six peaks of cromathogram. Four retention time superior to the highest point of the calibration curve. So for those four peaks the long Pow is highest than 6.2 The two first minor peaks are on the calibration curve with Log Pow 2.7 and 3.0

DDT 7.44 4.904761905 0.69061793 6.2

Using the Capacity factor K' and the partition coefficient log Pow of the reference items, the following calibration curve was obtained:

log Pow=3.708 log K' + 3.531

r²=0.9939

Esterol A gives six peaks on the chromatogram.Four of them have a retention time superior to the DDT which is the highest point of the calibration curve. So for that four peaks the log Pow is higher than 6.2.The two first minor peaks are on the calibration curve, so a value of log Pow can be calculated. The following table gives the percentage of area and the log Pow values obtanied for 3 injections (repeatability control) and calculated from the UV trace at 210 nm.These value were calculated using the precedent regression equation with the corresponding retention time.

Peak number Injection number Time (min.) Average rention time Area % Average % area Log Pow
  1 2.04   6.07
1 2 2.03 2.03 6.13 6.1 2.7
  3 2.03   6.1
  1 2.17   1.95
2 2 2.17 2.17 2.04 2.0 3.0
  3 2.17   1.87
  1 > 7.44   91.35
3,4,5, and 6 2 > 7.44 > 7.44 91.83 91.7  > 6.2
  3 > 7.44   92.03
Conclusions:
Mean Log Pow for the 6 peaks of Esterol A for 3 determinations are 2.7 , 3.0 > 6.2. The value of 6.2 is taken as definitive
