Lithium nitrate is an oxidising agent. Mixtures with alkyl esters may explode owing to the formation of alkylnitrates. Mixtures with phosphorus, tin(II)chloride or other reducing agents may react explosively (Bretherick, 1999).

published data, lithium nitrate has to be classified and labelled as
oxidising solid, cat. 3, "may intensify fire; oxidiser" (H272) according
to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP), as amended for the tenth time in
Regulation (EU) No 2017/776.
