Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A study investigating the toxicity of the substance to soil microorganisms according to OECD 216 showed an 28-d EC50 of 608 mg/kg dw for inhibition of nitrate formation.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Short-term EC50 for soil microorganisms:
608 mg/kg soil dw

Additional information

The toxicity of the substance to soil microorganisms was investigated in a study according to OECD 216 at nominal concentrations ranging from 62.5 to 2500 mg/kg dw. The calculated EC50 value for inhibition of nitrate formation after 28 days was 608 mg/kg dw. The substance did have an adverse effect on nitrogen transformation in soil; however, that effect appeared to be the result of direct chemical reaction with nitrate, rather than toxicity or inhibition of nitrifying bacteria.
