Six sources of information on the boiling point of 2-Chloropropionic acid are presented. The results are all in good agreement with each other. However, some are secondary sources and many seem to refer back to the same original information.

It is considered that the following independent values are reported: 185, 186, 170-190 and 183-187 degrees C.
The large boiling range of 170 -190°C is reported three times amongst the values sourced. This boiling range reported is relatively large. The level of purity is not reported from any of these three sources, however it is suspected that the range covers both high and lower purity subtsnaces. The other reported values indicate a boiling point of 185 °C.
The mean measured value is 183.5 degrees C. Since 185 degrees C is from a peer reviewed source and in very good agreement with the mean of all the results, it is concluded that the boiling point of 2-Chloropropionic acid is 185 degrees C.Information on Registered Substances comes from registration dossiers which have been assigned a registration number.
