Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Keep away from heat and ignition sources. Harmful if swallowed. Avoid breathing vapors. Use with adequate
ventilation. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothes. Wash thoroughly after handling. Keep container closed. After skin contact: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash exposed area with soap and water. If symptoms
persist, seek medical attention. After eye contact: Wash eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, lifting lids occasionally. Seek Medical
Aid. After swallowing: If swallowed, induce vomiting immediately after giving two glasses of water. Never give
anything by mouth to an unconscious person. After inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen
Fire-fighting measures
Fire Extinguisher
Type: Carbon Dioxide, dry chemical powder or appropriate foam
Fire/Explosion
Hazards:
Flammable vapors. Vapors may form explosive mixture with air.
Fire Fighting
Procedure:
Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing to prevent contact with
skin and clothing.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions: use an individual protective equipement (waterproof boots, suitable protective clothing, and
safety glasses). Prevent any contact with hot surfaces. Do not approach facing the wind.
Environment precautions: keep away from drains, surface and groundwater and soil.
Methods for cleaning up, contain spilled material. Cover with an inert, non-combustible, inorganic absolving
material, or sweep up, and remove to an approved disposal container. Avoid open flames or other sources of
ignition.
Handling and storage
Precaution in handling: apply according to good manufacturing and industrial hygiene practices with proper
ventilation. Do not drink, eat or smoke while handling. Respect good personal hygiene.
Storage conditions: store in cool, dry and ventilated area away from heat sources and protected from light in
tightly closed original container. Keep air contact to a minimum
