Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The test item had a melting range starting at about 23 °C and ranging up to 93 °C with two pronounced peaks at 28.0 °C and 93 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
23 °C

Additional information

The melting point of the test item was measured by Differential Scanning Calometry according to OECD Guideline 102 (BASF SE, 2018). In order to survey the thermal behaviour of the test item a preliminary TG/DSC-Test (non-GLP) was run up to 600 °C. A decreasing TG-signal starting at about 20 °C with a weight loss of 13 % at about 500 °C showed the degradation of the test item presumably due to vaporization of the water. To avoid the vaporization of humidity all measurements were performed in 20-bar pressure sealed steel crucibles. Additional runs with 100-bar pressure sealed steel crucibles were used for qualitative information. In result, the test item had a melting range starting at about 23 °C and ranging up to 93 °C with two pronounced peaks at 28.0 °C and 93 °C (estimated accuracy: +/- 1 °C).
