Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If rapid recovery does not occur,

obtain medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush eye with water. If persistent irritation occurs,

obtain medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin with with water

using soap if available. If rapid recovery does not occur,

obtain medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: DO NOT DELAY. Do not induce vomitting. Give nothing by

mouth. OBTAIN MEDICAL ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Foam, dry chemical powder, carbon dioxide, sand or earth.

Water fog or fine spray.

Do no use waterjet.

Product arising from burning: Smoke may contain the original material in addition to

combustion products of varying composition, which may be

toxic and/or irritating. With incomplete combustion of the product carbon monoxide can be produced. Organic chlorine

compounds, such as hydrogen chloride, can also arise on combustion of the product.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Complete protective equipment and compressed, self-

contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Do not allow contact with eye, skin and clothing. Do not

breath in vapours. Evacuate all non-essential personnel. Ventilate contaminated area thoroughly. Extinguish naked

flames. Remove ignition sources. No smoking.

Take precautionary measures against static discharge. Vapour can travel along the ground for considerable distances.

Remove all possible sources of ignition in the surrounding area and evacuate all personnel.

Personal protection: PVC one-piece suit with integral hood full face piece respirator with organic vapour canister

NPF 400 nitrile rubber gloves gauntlet type safety boots - rubber, knee length. In a confined space, wear self-contained breathing apparatus open circuit type

NPF 2000.

Environment: Prevent from spreading or entering into

drains, ditsches or rivers by using sand, earth or other appropriate barriers. Inform the local authorities if this

cannot be prevented.

Clean-up: Absorb or contain liquid with sand, earth or spill control material. Shovel up and place in a labelled,

sealable container for subsequent dafe disposal. Put leaking containers in a labelled drum or overdrum. Scrub

contaminated surfaces with detergent solution.

Retain washings as contaminated waste.

Other: risk of explosion. Inform the emergency services if

liquid enters surface wtare drains. Local authorities should

be advised if significant spillages cannot be contained.

Handling and storage

Risk Management Measures: This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH Regulation Article 18(4) for transported intermediates and ECHA Guidance on Intermediates, version 2-December 2010 (Reference: ECHA-2010-G-17-EN). The substance is used only in one site in the EU, with the Importer and the User being the same legal entity. Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at the use site.

Handling: Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Do not breathe fumes, vapour. Earth all equipment. Do not empty into

drains. Extinguish any naked flames. Remove ignition

sources. Avoid sparks. Do not smoke. Take precautionary

measures against static discharges. Do not consume or store

food in the work area. Wear appropriate protective clothing.

All working methods must be designed so that exposure by skin contact, if applicable, by inhalation of the substance as well as eye contact is avoided. As far as possible,

closed or at least splashproof equipment should be used during filling, transfer and metered feeding as well as

during sampling. In the case of handling in open systems,

any vapours that can form must be extracted directly at the point of origin. The extracted air should only be returned

to the work area after adequate cleaning using tested

equipment. If technical extraction or ventilation measures

are not possible or are insufficient, respiratory protection (e.g. :::) should be worn. To avoid skin contact, tested protective gloves (e.g. :::), and, if applicable, suitable

protective clothing should be worn. The wearing of eye

protection (e.g. :::) is rec-ommended. After skin contact,

the affected parts of the skin should be cleaned thoroughly

using (:::). Special skin-protection and skin-care measures

are recommended. A skin-protection plan should be drawn up. Outdoor clothing should be kept separate from working clothes.

If vapors can develop, due to the risk of explosion,

potential al ignition sources should be removed from the work area. In addition, measures such as earthing all

equipment and plant parts should be taken to prevent

electrostatic discharge. Do not use any spark-producing equipment or tools. Extinguish any naked flames

Storage: Keep container tightly closed and in a cool, well-ventilated place, in the original container. Keep in a bunded area.

Keep away from direct sunlight and other sources of ignition or heat. Do not smoke in storage areas. A reliable fixed

sprinkler/deluge system should be installed. Keep away from aerosols, oxidising magnets, corrosives and from other

flammable products which  are not harmful or toxic to man or the environment. Do not store near food, drink, animal feed,

pharmaceuticals, cosmetics or fertilizers. Keep out of reach

of children.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Drums with rustfree steel lining.
