Description of key information

A 48-hour EC50 value of 124 mg/l and NOEC of <60 mg/l (measured concentrations) have been determined for the effects of the silanol reaction product, trimethylsilanol, on mortality and mobility of Daphnia magna.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Fresh water invertebrates

Fresh water invertebrates
Effect concentration:
124 mg/L

Additional information

No reliable data are available for the registration substance trimethylsilane (CAS 993-07-7). However, reliable test results are available for the silanol reaction product of the test substance, trimethylsilanol (CAS 1066-40-6), upon which the hazard assessment is based.

A 48-hour EC50 value of 124 mg/l and a NOEC of <60 mg/l (measured concentrations) have been determined for the effects of trimethylsilanol on mortality and mobility of Daphnia magna.
