Additional information

A study was conducted to determine the acute toxicity of the test substance to bluegill sunfish (Lepomis macrochirus) according to OECD Guideline 203, in compliance with GLP. In this test, 2 replicates of 10 bluegills each were exposed to water accommodated fractions (WAFs) of the test substance at nominal concentrations of 0, 62.5, 125, 250, 500 and 1,000 mg/L under static conditions for a period of 96 h. Samples were removed from each treatment and analysed for dissolved carbon (DOC) content. Observations for mortality, abnormal behaviour and appearance of the fish were performed on all replicate chambers at 24, 48, 72 and 96 h. Measured values were equivalent to 0, 1.26, 2.56, 5.16 and 11.3 mg/L, respectively. No mortality occurred during the 96 h period. Under the study, the 96 h LC50was >1,000 mg/L (equivalent to >11.3 mg/L measured concentration) (Bragin GE, 1993a).
