Description of key information

Vinyl neononanoate was assessed for acute toxicity by the oral, dermal and inhalation routes of exposure following established O.E.C.D. and.or U.S.E.P. A. Testing Guideline studies. All acute studies were conducted with GLP compliance.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Acute toxicity: via oral route

Endpoint conclusion
Dose descriptor:
LD50

Acute toxicity: via inhalation route

Endpoint conclusion
Value:
3 230 mg/m³ air

Acute toxicity: via dermal route

Endpoint conclusion
Dose descriptor:
LD50

Additional information

Vinyl neononanoate had the following LD50/LC50 values: acute oral rat > 5000 mg/Kg of body weight; acute dermal rat and rabbit > 2000 mg/Kg of body weight; and acute rat 4 hr inhalation > 3230 mg/3 (~ 430 ppm). Vinyl neononanoate is apparently not acutely by the oral and dermal routes. In the acute rat inhalation 30% mortality was observed at the high dose of 3230 mg/m3 suggesting slight toxicity.
