Additional information

Acetic acid has been determined to be readily biodegradable under aerobic and anaerobic conditions. The half-life of acetic acid in soil has been reported to be ≤2 days at 60% of MWHC (Nowak and Nowak, 1990). If first-order degradation is assumed then the half-life of acetic acid would be ≤ 0.6 days (DT50 ≤ 14.45h). Additionally, acetic acid is highly soluble.

Acetic acid does not pose a significant terrestrial toxicological risk.
