Materials and methods

Principles of method if other than guideline:
This test determines the lower flammable limit of a vapour in air at atmospheric pressure. The sample is allowed to equilibrate with air in a glass vessel. A spark is then passed between electrodes for 0.5 seconds. The results are quoted as % volume of gas required per volume air.
GLP compliance:
yes

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The lower flammability limit of pyrolysis C5 has been determined to be 1.05 % v/v in air at 98.9 kPa and 35°C.
Executive summary:

This study was conducted to GLP and is clearly described. The test determined the lower flammability limit of pyrolysis C5 vapour.
