Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

244-trimethylpentene has a half-life of <1 day. Atkinson (1990) applied a least squares analysis of degradation rate constants for organic chemicals by hydroxyl radicals developed by other investigators. Measured data from the author and other investigators were quality assessed and then used to develop rate constants for different chemicals. Therefore, this value represents a valid rate constant for 2,4,4 -trimethylpentene based on all valid studies at the time of publication. The study is a non-GLP, non-guideline study published in peer reviewed literature and is considered to be acceptable with restrictions.

The indirect photolysis half-life was estimated using the EPISUITE v4.11 program and the methodology described by Atkinson et al. (1985). The estimated half life of the substance is 0.201 days based on a recommended rate constant of 53.1867 E-12 cm3/molecule/second.
