Description of key information
Additional information
Hydrolysis/Phototransformation:
After evaporation or exposure to the air, ureido methacrylate will be rapidly degraded by photochemical processes. In contact with water the ureido methacrylate will hydrolyse slowly (EPIWIN calculation).
Biodegradation:
Ureido methacrylate is inherently biodegradable according to OECD criteria (modified MITI (II) test).
In a dissolved organic carbon test according to OECD TG 301A ureido methacrylate reaches the pass level of 70% in the 10-d windows. Therefore it is regearded as readily biodegradable.
Bioaccumulation:
Based on a calculated BCF of 3.162 L/kg (log BCF 0.5) and a log Pow of 0.6 - 1.5 significant bioaccumulation of ureido methacrylate is not expected (BCFBAF Program (v3.00)).
Transport and distribution:
According to a calculated Koc of 12.77 (log Koc = 1.1) ureido methacrylate has a very low potential to adsorb to soil and suspended particles in water (PCKOCWIN v1.66).
The evaporation potential of ureido methacrylate was calculated using SRC HENRYWIN v3.10. The calculated Henry's law constant of 0 at 25 °C indicates that the substance will slowly evaporate from water surfaces into the atmosphere.
