Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The stability of 1,4 -benzenediamine, N,N'-mixed phenyl and tolyl derivatives (DAPD) was evaluated by testing (or modeling) the transformation (and half-life) of the substance in different environmental compartments. Phototransformation in air was modeled using a QSAR (EpiWin) and was indicative of a short half life of the substance in air (DT50 = 0.64hr).

Phototransformation in water was tested (McLaughlin, 2004) at two different pHs (6 & 8) and indicated DT50 values adjusted for natural sunshine of 0.94 and 1.78 days respectively.

Finally the potential of the substance to hydrolyse was evaluated. The combined results of two studies indicate that no chemical reaction is occurring between water and DAPD under the applied experimental conditions
