Nominal: 1000 mg/L
Analytical: at start: 996.6; at end 1050.4 mg/L
Details on test conditions:
- Vessels: 5 liter glass aquaria
- Volume: 2.9 liter Test concentration: (3.0 liter minus 2x 0.05 liter for analytical control)
- Number of fish: 10 fish per concentration and water control
- Feeding: none
- Aeration: slowly aerated
- Lightening: 12 hours light / 12 hours darkness (yellow light TL 16/20 W)

In a pretest carried out at 10, 30, 100, 200 and 1000 ppm the LC50 was determined to be >1000 ppm. Therefore, the test concentration in the final (limit) test was chosen as 1000 ppm. A control was carried out with water (blank control).
Reference substance (positive control):
no
Duration:
96 h
Dose descriptor:
LC50
Effect conc.:
> 1 000 mg/L
Nominal / measured:
nominal
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Basis for effect:
mortality (fish)
Details on results:
At the test concentrations used - 1000 ppm - (1000 mg/L), no mortalities were evident. An LC50 could therefore not be calculated.
Sublethal observations / clinical signs:

No abnormal responses and mortalities of the fish were observed.

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
The LC50 FAT 40224/C is >1000 mg/L to zebrafish.
Executive summary:

Acute toxicity to fish of the test substance was determined in a GLP-compliant study performed according to the OECD guideline 203. Ten zebrafish per dose were placed in a slowly aerated static system and exposed to 1000 mg/L of test substance for 96 hours. Water samples were taken from the fish tank at the beginning and at the end of the experiment to determine concentrations of the test substance present. No effects and mortalities were seen at the tested concentration, therefore the LC50 of FAT 40224/C was >1000 mg/L.

Description of key information

Acute toxicity to fish of the test substance was determined in a GLP-compliant study performed according to the OECD guideline 203. Ten zebrafish per dose were placed in a slowly aerated static system and exposed to 1000 mg/L of test substance for 96 hours. Water samples were taken from the fish tank at the beginning and at the end of the experiment to determine concentrations of the test substance present. No effects and mortalities were seen at the tested concentration, therefore the LC50 of FAT 40224/C was >1000 mg/L. The test substance is considered non-toxic to the test species.
