Description of key information

The following study was submitted as the key study to assess the boiling point of the test material:
Hansen S (2010) Boiling point of TIB KAT 226. Testing laboratory: TIB Chemicals AG, Muelheimerstrasse 16-22, 68219 Mannheim, Germany. Owner company: TIB Chemicals AG, Muelheimerstrasse 16-22, 68219 Mannheim, Germany. Report No.: Boiling-TK 226. Report date: 2010-03-05.
In a determination of boiling point study (TIB Project: Boiling-TK 226), the boiling point of TIB KAT 226 could not be determined as the test item decomposes.
In the preliminary test the test item TIB KAT 226 begins to decompose at 142°C and decomposes completely at 158°C.

Additional information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Decomposition commences at 142°C and decomposes completely at 158°C.

A reliability rating of 1 was assigned to the key study, Hansen S (2010), according to the criteria of Klimisch, 1997 as the study was conducted to a method equivalent or similar to OECD Guideline for Testing of Chemicals, Guideline No. 103: "Boiling Point", and well documented.
