Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
flash point of flammable liquids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
The study does not need to be conducted because the flash point for liquid organic peroxides is only relevant in the temperature range where the product is thermally stable. Above the SADT (self-accelerating decomposition temperature) of the product flash point determination is not relevant because decomposition products are evolved

Description of key information

The endpoint is waived: The substance decomposes before the flashpoint is reached.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The Self-Accelerating Decomposition Temperature (SADT) of the substance is 15°C (reference SADT: CLP regulations 2.15.2.3 and UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria, 5th revised edition, sub-sections 28.1, 28.2, 28.3 and Table 28.3.)

Data on old formulations of the same substance, which is not reliable.

The flash point of 85 % 1,1 ,3,3-tetramethylbutyl peroxyneodecanoate 15 % Diluent type A is 46°C.The flash point of 85 % 1,1 ,3,3-tetramethylbutyl peroxyneodecanoate 15 % Diluent type A is 46°C.

The flash point of 70% (by weight) 2,4,4 trimethylpentyl- 2-peroxyneodecanoate in isododecane is 48°C.

The flash point of 87 % Trigonox 151 is 53°C.
