Conclusions:
The log Pow of methylphosphonic acid was reported to be -2.28.

Description of key information

Based on an expert statement the Partition Coefficient (logPow) was estimated for MPA. From this calculation resulted a log Pow of -1.5559 (at a pH of 4) which shall be used for risk assessment. As supporting information, the log D was calculated for the substance methylphosphonic acid by using the SPARC on-line calculator (for getting log Pow estimates covering the whole pH range). These calculated results, which unanimously are indicating the very low log Pow of the test tem, are further supported by a log Pow of -2.28 as actually measured for the test item (reliability of this study not assignable).
