EC number: 213-234-5
CAS number: 931-36-2
The test substance is not supposed to be
applied directly to soil. An indirect exposure to soil via sewage sludge
transfer is unlikely since the substance is readily biodegradable. For a
substance being considered as „readily biodegradable“, it can be assumed
that it will be biodegraded within the STP process and therefore a
transfer to the soil compartment is not expected. As a consequence, no
tests on terrestrial organisms are provided.
Exposure of birds is generally only
considered for the fish and earthworm food chains following the release
of a substance via a sewage treatment works. It is unlikely that a
secondary poisoning risk will be identified for
2-ethyl-4-methylimidazole since it is readily biodegradable and has a
log Kow below 3).
