Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: If adverse effects occur from breathing in the dust or fumes
when processing remove person to an uncontaminated area and
seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: If dust gets in eyes flush them with plenty of water, seek
medical attention if irritation persists. This
information can also be found in Section 4 of the MSDS
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash exposed skin with soap and water.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: If a large amount is swallowed then seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: powder, foam, water, water spray, carbon dioxide

Product arising from burning: carbon monoxide, sulphur oxides, hydrocarbons.

The release of other hazardous decomposition products is
possible.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus

Wear chemical resistant oversuit

Fire fighters must wear fire resistant personnel protective
equipment

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Since this polymer will be imported there will be no
manufacturing of the new polymer in Europe . The physical
state of this material is a solid polymer in pellets or
powder . Accidental releases would be controlled by
containment and removal by mechanical means for example
sweeping or vacuuming. The pellets will be used in injection
molding machines and will be molded into a finished
article.

Further information is reported in the MSDS sections 6 and 1
3

Handling and storage

Handling: Minimize dust generation and accumulations. No special PPE
is required however, use of protective clothing and safety
glasses is a good industrial practice. This information can
also be found in the MSDS Section 7 & 8.

Storage: There are no special storage requirements for this
polymer. This information can also be found in the MSDS
Section 7

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Standard bags are made of paper + aluminium.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Based on molecular structure and composition of the
substance, explosives properties are not expected but based
on particle size, dust explosion potential can not be
excluded. See MSDS section 9.2

Chemical reaction with water: Stable in contact with water

Dust explosion: Potential explosive properties are indicated by the presence
of certain reactive groups in the molecule and/or by the
oxygen balance. The molecular structure does not indicate
that such groups are present. No combination of oxidising
and organic components, which also may indicate potential
explosive properties, is present.

Therefore, considering the molecular structure and
composition of the substance, explosives properties are not
expected.

Based on particle size, dust explosion can not be excluded.
Precautions regarding dust explosion risk are indicated in
following sections of the MSDS : 5,6,7,8

Dust explosion determined by test: N
