First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove from exposure, keep warm and at rest.  Obtain medical

attention.  if breathing is difficult or ceases ensure and

maintain ventialtion giving oxygen as appropriate.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Irrigate immediately with plenty of water, preferably from

an eye wash foutain or bottles, and continue for at least 15

minutes.  Obtain medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash thoroughly with plenty of soap and water, preferably

under a safety shower, removing contaminated clothing.

Obtain medical attention.

Thoroughly wash contaminated clothing before re-use.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Obtain medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water fog or spray, foam, dry powder or carbon dioxide.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing should be worn at all times.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear protective equipment appropriate to the scale of the

spillage.  A minimum of impervious gloves and chemical

safety glasses should be worn.

Contain large spillages with dams of absorbent pads or booms

or other suitable inert materials.  Carefully cover with a

suitable absorbent material and collect and transfer to a

suitably labelled, sealable container for safe disposal.

Wash the spillage area with plenty of water.  Throughly

ventilate the area and assess the risk of exposure before

allowing unprotected re-entry and the resumption of normal

working practices.

Decontaminate equipment after use.

Handling and storage

Handling: Plant and equipment should be designed to minimise releases

and personal exposure to the substance e.g. by the use of

enclosed plant or suitable exhaust ventilation.

Storage: The substance should be stored in clearly labelled, tightly

closed containers in a cool, dry area.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The material is packaged in 25L UN approved plastic lined

steel drums in accordance with the requirements of the

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will be consumed during normal usage. Recovery

methods from minor spillages or accidental discharge are not

available. All waste arising from spillage or accidental

discharge will be incinerated at a licensed site.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: The substance is not associated with any hazardous chemical

effects. There are no established chemical treatment regimes

to neutralise hazardous health or environmental properties.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: There will be no discharge of the substance during normal

usage.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Any waste will be incinerated by burning in a licensed

incinerator in accordance with local regulations. Flue gases

should be scrubbed.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: There will be no discharge of the substance during normal

usage.
