Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove the affected person from the danger zone to a

well-ventilated room or to fresh air, and keep warm.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse eyes with clean water for several minutes. Seek

medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing and thoroughly wash the

affected parts of the body with soap and water. If

irritation occurs, seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Repeatedly administer medicinal charcoal in a large quantity

of water. Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Powder, foam, carbon dioxide or waterspray may be used (do

not use direct jet of water).

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and

nitrogen together with hydrocyanic acid.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Use respirator to protect from fumes.

Measures have to be taken to prevent the contaminated

extinguishing agent from seeping into the ground or from

spreading uncontrollably.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Isolate spillage. Avoid dust formation. Gloves, goggles,

dust mask and full personal protective equipment should be

worn. Sweep up spill or use industrial vacuum fitted with

suitable dust filtrations system. Transfer to suitably

labelled containers and dispose of in accordance with local

regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Avoid inhalation

of dust. Do not eat, drink or smoke while working. In

addition to the measures taken usually in the chemical works

like dustproof filling and measuring equipment (including

dust extraction), further personal protection measures may

have to be implemented to avoid possible contact with the

product.

Storage: Store the product in tightly sealed containers. Protect from

light and humidity.

Store separately from feed, food and stimulants.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 120 litre polythene lined fibre-board kegs.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Reacts vigorously with acids.Traces of hydrogen cyanide

(HCN) may be produced during storage.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Dust explosion: As with many organic powders, the risk of explosion

following ignition of the dust under certain circumstances

cannot be ignored. Precautions should be taken to avoid the

generation and build-up of dust and to ensure that sources

of ignition are eliminated.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not feasible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method using temperatures above 1200 °C. Waste

gas treatment to remove oxides of nitrogen gas should be

fitted.
