Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Wash with eyewash solution or water, holding the eyelids

apart, for at least 15 minutes.

Seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing . Wash skin with water. If

symptoms develop, seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, dry powder or carbon dioxide may be used

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon,

nitrogen and sulfur together with some hydrogen chloride and

soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus and suitable protective

clothing should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing (see 2.3.1) Sweep up spill

and transfer to suitable labelled containers. Dispose of by

incineration or at a landfill site in accordance with local

regulations.

Wash spill site with water. Avoid discharge to watercourses.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid dust formation. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Avoid inhalation of high concentrations of dust. Wear

suitable protective clothing, gloves (natural rubber) and

safety goggles.

Storage: Store in tightly closed containers. Take precautionary

measures against static discharges.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 1 kilo tin or 25 kilo full opening drum, mild steel with

conductive plastic liner.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Cases of respiratory sensitisation have been observed with

reactive dyes and care should be taken to avoid inhalation.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported

Dust explosion: By analogy with tests on similar substances, the substance

may form flammable dust-clouds at temperatures <100 deg C.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not economically feasible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal at an approved landfill site is possible. (A650)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method, using temperatures above 950 deg C.

Waste gas treatment to remove oxides of nitrogen and sulfur

and hydrogen chloride gas should be fitted. (A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: It is unlikely that the substance will be appreciably

degraded in aerobic processes of short duration.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance itself will not enter the public domain.

Recovery for reuse from dyed material is not feasible.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: Dyed articles can be disposed of as domestic waste.
