Generally, the test substance is resistant to hydrolysis because it does not contain any labile functional groups. Therefore, no study on hydrolysis is performed. Furthermore, in accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VIII, the hydrolysis test does not need to be conducted, as the test substance is highly insoluble in water (0.0017 mg/L at 20 °C).

The ready biodegradability of the test item was assessed over a 28 day period by the modified Sturm test (OECD 301B). The nominal test concentrations were 10 and 20 mg a.s./L. The test material attained up to 0 and 0 % biodegradation after 28 days whereas the positive control substance (Aniline) was 94.4 % degraded 28 days. These results indicate that the test item cannot be classified readily biodegradable under conditions of the test.

The test substance was found to be poorly biodegradable in an OECD 301B study. It is assumed that the results of simulation studies would not reveal any different findings. Therefore, simulation studies in water/sediment and soil are not provided.

A weight of evidence approach was used to assess the bioaccumulation potential. One experimental study and four QSAR calculations have been used. In summary, it could be shown that the test substance is not bioaccumulative according to PBT-criteria.

Based upon a calculated log Koc of 5.4558 an adsorption to the solid phase is expected. The calculated Henry constant indicates that the test substance will not evaporate into the atmosphere. Thus, the substance will mainly distribute to soil and sediment.
