Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
15 November 2017 to 17 November 2017
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Key result
Relative self-ignition temperature:
> 400 °C
Remarks on result:
no self ignition observed under the test conditions
Conclusions:
Three replicate tests were performed. No relative self-ignition temperature of Cadmium selenide was observed up to 400°C.
Executive summary:

The purpose of this test was to provide preliminary information on the auto-flammability of solid substance at elevated temperatures. A specific amount of the test substance was placed in a wire-mesh cube into an oven at room temperature; the temperature difference/time curve of the sample of test item was recorded while the temperature of the oven is increased to 400°C at a rate of 0.5°C/min. For the purpose of this test, the temperature of the oven at which the sample temperature reaches 400°C by self-heating is called the self-ignition temperature.

Three replicate tests were performed. No relative self-ignition temperature of Cadmium selenide was observed up to 400°C.

The test item was not auto-flammable under the conditions of the test.

Description of key information

Key value determined in a GLP accredited laboratory study using relative self-ignition test, in accordance with EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
400 °C
