Description of key information

A OECD 201GLP study with Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata is available. An OECD 201 study on Scenedesmus is available however does not not provide sufficient information on the effects, the stability of the test material and on the endpoints assessed.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
102 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
3.01 mg/L

Additional information

The study from 1988 did not report the stability of the test material and the endpoint assessed (growth rate/yield). Based on these obervation the study was repeated in 2012. The ErC50(72h) determined in the key study (2012) was >102 mg/L mean measured concentration (greater than the highest concentration tested) and the NOEC was 3.01 mg/L.
