Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The partition coefficient for Condensation Product of N-C12-C18-Alkylpropane-1,3-Diamine, N-(3-Aminopropyl)-N’-C12-C18-Alkylpropane-1,3-Diamine and Formic Acid has been determined according to OECD 117 and following GLP rules. In the test conditions (pH = 10 ; t° = 20°C), Log Pow determined is above 4.0.

In the Chapter R.7A of the REACH guidance (Section R.7.1.8.3; Guidance on regulatory compliant Kow determination for surfactants), it is indicated that none of the experimental methods is very well suited for determining the Kow of surface active chemicals. Indeed, due to the physico-chemical properties of surfactants, specifically their tendency to either accumulate at the octanol/water interface or to coat the surfaces of the above-described HPLC adsorbent phase, the logKow of surfactants cannot be accurately measured for these substances. Therefore, the log Kow values ofCondensation Product of N-C12-C18-Alkylpropane-1,3-Diamine, N-(3-Aminopropyl)-N’-C12-C18-Alkylpropane-1,3-Diamine and Formic Acidcan not be used to predict the partitioning behaviour (sorption or bioaccumulation potential) of this compound. Instead of this,

a fish bioconcentration test is proposed to predict the fate in the environment.
