Description of key information

CHPTAC is not readily biodegradable, not bioaccumulating (log Kow < -1.5), and soluble in water (WS: 835.2 g/L at 20 °C, pH 3.1, see section 4.8 of the present dossier). Regarding the calculated Henry law constant of < 2.25*10-7Pa m³/mol it is unlikely that CHPTAC volatilizes to air. Due to its physicochemical properties, CHPTAC will be present, remain, or distribute to, aqueous compartments, and will be degraded or metabolized there. Regarding hydrolysis

a measured half-life of CHPTAC at pH 7.8 and 12 °C was 21 days.
