Conclusion on classification

The 50% effect criterion for acute toxicity was not observed up to the highest concentration tested in any of the acute studies performed with ethyl methyl carbonate. Also, the substance was shown to be (readily) biodegradable and has a log Kow < 3. Therefore, the substance does not need to be classified for the environment according to the CLP Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 and the Dangerous Substance Directive 67/548/EC.
