EC number: 245-844-2
CAS number: 23726-93-4
No additional testing is required for explosive properties, based on chemical structure and low decomposition energy.
According to the screening procedure described in CLP, one structural
alert (1,2-diene) was identified in the chemical structure of the
substance, therefore the Oxygen Balance was calculated. The result of
OB=-286 is sufficient for purpose.
Moreover, a DTA analysis was available as reliable supporting study,
with a maximum decomposition energy observed of 306 J/g at 280°C.
The substance meets the exemption criteria (OB <-200, exothermal
decomposition <500 J/g). The acceptance procedure does not apply.
The decomposition energy slightly exceed the exemption criteria (<300
J/g). Further testing should be performed. However, considering the
result is borderline to the threshold, no major hazard is anticipated.
