Acute aquatic toxicity studies are available for three trophic levels.
The most sensitive organism in acute toxicity testing was Daphnia
magna with an EC50 of 4.03 mg/l. In Leuciscus idus a LC50 of
6.81 mg/l was determined. The EC50 detected in algae (Scenedesmus
subspicatus) was 22.15 mg/l.
Chronic aquatic toxicity studies are not available. Considering the
a/c-ratio, corresponding studies are not considered to have a relevant
influence on the risk assessment and thus no further studies are
The PNEC calculations are based on the results of the acute toxicity
test performed with D. magna. For the sediment and terrestric
compartments the equilibrium partitioning method has been used.
The PNEC STP was calculated using the EC50 of 100 mg/l determined in a
respiration inhibition test conducted with domestic, activated sludge.
