Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
Henry's law constant
Type of information:
read-across from supporting substance (structural analogue or surrogate)
Adequacy of study:
supporting study
Justification for type of information:
For details and justification of read-across please refer to the read-across report attached to IUCLID section 13.
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
read-across source
Key result
H:
0 atm m³/mol
Conclusions:
Lactic acid is unlikely to volatilize from water according to the Henry's Law Constant of 1.13*10^-7 atm m^3 mol^-1.
Executive summary:

Henry's law constant of lactic acid was estimated with EPISuite, as the quotient of its vapour pressure and its aqueous solubility. Since lactic acid is miscible with water, this is in fact an overestimation of its propensity to evaporate from water.

This information is used in a read-across approach in the assessment of the target substance. For details and justification of read-across please refer to the read-across report attached to IUCLID section 13.

Description of key information

Lactic acid is unlikely to volatilize from water according to the Henry's Law Constant of 1.13*10-7atm m3mol-1.
