Water solubility:
12.73 g/L
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
7
Remarks on result:
other: starting pH: 7; pH level after experiment: 6.9
Water solubility:
> 18.44 g/L
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
8.9
Remarks on result:
other: starting pH: 9; pH level after experiment: 7.8
Details on results:
For the samples mixed with buffer at pH 9, the pH dropped to a pH of 7.8. This is probably due to an insufficient buffer concentration. Because it can be assumed that a further deprotonation of the acid groups in the molecule lead to a further increase solubility, the concentration found in the experiment is given as minimum value.
Conclusions:
The water solubility of N,N’-di-L-alanyl-L-cystine was determined using the shake flask method. At ph 4 and 20°C the water solubility is 10.29 g/L and at pH 7 and 20°C the water solubility is 12.73 g/L At pH 9 (20°C) the water solubility is at least 18.44 g/L.
