First-aid measures

General information: Seek medical advice immediately
Ensure that the First Aid Personnel are aware of the product involved, and take precautions to protect themselves (e.g. wear personal protection equipment). Remove affected person from danger area, lay him down. Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately. Keep warm, calm and covered up.
After inhalation: Summon a doctor immediately. Remove the casualty into fresh air and keep him calm.
After contact with skin: Take for medical treatment. In case of contact with skin wash off immediately with polyethylene glycol 400, then with plenty of water
After contact with eyes: Begin with medical treatment. Rinse the affected eye with plenty of water, at the same time keep the unaffected eye well protected.
After ingestion: When swallowed seek medical aid immediately and show the physician the packaging or the label of the packaging.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: alcohol-resistant foam, dry powder, carbon dioxide, water spray jet
Extinguishing media that must not be used for safety reasons: Full water jet
Special hazards from the substance itself, its combustion products or from its vapours:
In case of fires, hazardous combustion gases are formed: Carbon monoxide (CO), Carbon dioxide (CO2), Hydrogen chloride (HCl), Hydrogen fluoride (HF).
Special protective equipment for firefighting: Do not inhale explosion and/or combustion gases, Use self-contained breathing apparatus
Further information: Fire residues and contaminated firefighting water must be disposed of in accordance with the local
regulations.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Wear personal protective equipment. Unprotected persons must be kept away. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Remove persons to safety.
Environmental precautions: Do not allow entry to drains, water courses or soil. Contain contaminated water/firefighting water. Prevent spread over a wide area (e.g. by containment or oil barriers).
Methods for cleaning up/taking up: Pick up with liquid binding materials and if necessary fill in containers capable of being locked. Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly, observing environmental regulations. When picked up, treat material as prescribed under heading "Disposal".
Dispose of absorbed material in accordance with the regulations. Containers in which spilt substance has been collected must be adequately labelled.

Handling and storage

This substance should be handled under strictly controlled conditions as specified in Reach regulation article 18(4). Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements in accordance with risk-based management system should be available at each manufacturing site.
Advice on safe handling: Provide good ventilation of working area (local exhaust ventilation if necessary). Avoid formation of aerosols.
Take precautionary measures against electrostatic loading. Observe the usual precautions for handling chemicals.
Advice on protection against fire and explosion: The product is combustible. Vapours may form explosive mixtures with air
Keep away from sources of ignition - refrain from smoking. Take precautionary measures against electrostatic charges - earthing necessary during loading operations. Observe the general rules of industrial fire protection
Requirements for storage rooms and vessels: Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place. Protect from direct sunlight.
Advice on storage compatibility: Do not store or transport together with foodstuffs. Do not store together with animal feedstocks.

Exposure controls / personal protection

This substance should be handled under strictly controlled conditions as specified in Reach regulation article 18(4). Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements in accordance with risk-based management system should be available at each manufacturing site.
General protective measures: Do not breathe vapours, aerosols or mists. Avoid contact with eyes and skin
Hygiene measures: Do not eat, drink or smoke during work time. Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately and clean thoroughly before using again. Garments that cannot be cleaned must be destroyed (burnt). Keep away from foodstuffs and beverages. Clean hands and face during work intervals and after work. Avoid contact of the substance.
Respiratory protection : Use respiratory protection in case of insufficient exhaust ventilation or prolonged exposure Multi-purpose filter ABEK
Hand protection : Nitrile rubber applied on knitted cotton for mechanical stress. Because this glove is used only for mechanical protection, the
minimum breakthrough time and thickness are not relevant to safety.
For short-term exposure (splash protection): Nitrile rubber gloves. Minimum breakthrough time/gloves :30 min, Minimum thickness/gloves 0,3mm
For long-term exposure: Butyl rubber gloves. Minimum breakthrough time / gloves :> 8 h Minimum thickness / gloves0,5 mm
These types of protective gloves are offered by various manufacturers. Please note the manufacturers´ detailed statements, especially about the minimum thickness and the minimum breakthrough time. Consider also the particular working conditions under which the gloves are being used.
Eye protection : tightly fitting safety glasses
Body protection : Impermeable protective clothing

Stability and reactivity

Thermal decomposition : > 350 °C
Hazardous reactions: When handled and stored appropriately no dangerous reactions are known
Hazardous decomposition products: when handled and stored appropriately no dangerous decomposition products are known
In case of fire: Hazardous combustion gases are Hydrogen chloride (HCl), Hydrogen fluoride, Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide

Disposal considerations

Product: Special waste incineration plant, after consultation with operators Observe local authority regulations
Uncleaned packaging: Packaging that cannot be cleaned should be disposed of as product waste.
For disposal local regulation is binding.
