Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient from further exposure. If unconciousness

occurs, seek medical attention. If breathing has stopped,

use mouth to mouth resuscitation. In all cases, remove

contaminated clothing and launder before reuse.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with water for at least 15 minutes, seek medical

attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Combustion products may contain carbon, nitrogen and

sulphur oxides. Suitable extinguishing agents are carbon

dioxide, foam, dry chemical or water fog. A self-contained

breathing apparatus should be worn. Water or foam may cause

frothing. Keep fire-exposed containers cool, use water.

Prevent run off from entering streams or drinking water

supplies.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Absorb substance on fire retardant treated sawdust,

diatomaceous earth, etc. Vacuum or shovel up carefully and

dispose of by incineration at an approved facility.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Use chemical type

goggles, impervious gloves (eg neoprene) and suitable

protective clothing.

Storage: Store in a cool area, away from fire and ignition sources.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Avoid contact with strong oxidisers.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No method for neutralisation of the harmful effects

recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended, avoid discharge to water.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method of disposal. Waste gas treatment to

remove nitrogen and sulphur oxides should be used.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance is insoluble in water and is not readily

biodegradable. An oil/water separator should be used to

remove the substance (upper phase) and activated charcoal

to reduce contamination to the lowest level possible in the

remaining water phase.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance itself will not enter the public domain.
