Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The density value of the AP 1300 S used for the assessment has been calculated from the available data for the substance itself and for the Similar Substance 01 (CAS 21850-44-2;).

Similar Substance 01 shares with AP 1300 S the same structure, except for the fact that Similar Substance 01 presents two dibromobutane functional groups linked to the dibromophenol core, instead the dibromo-methylbutane as in the case of AP 1300 S. The justification for the Read Across approach has been detailed in the document attached to the IUCLID Section 13.

Data on AP 1300 S:

Density = ca. 2.1 ± 0.1 g/cm3

Predicted data is generated using the ACD/Labs Percepta Platform - PhysChem Module (Advanced Chemistry Development, Inc. (ACD/Labs))

Data on Similar Substance 01

Density = ca. 2.2 ± 0.1 g/cm3

Predicted data is generated using the ACD/Labs Percepta Platform - PhysChem Module (Advanced Chemistry Development, Inc. (ACD/Labs))

Specific Gravity = 0.7 – 0.9

As cited in the World Health Organization (WHO, Geneva, 1995); Dr. G.J. van Esch “Tetrabromobisphenol A and Derivatived” (Environmental health criteria ; 172)

Considering the prediction on AP 1300 S, the prediction on Similar Substance 01 and the experimental data on the Similar Substance 01, the specific gravity of AP 1300 S is considered to be in the range 0.7 – 0.9.
