The test material was dissolved in distilled water at a concentration of l-4 mol/liter. n-Octanol was added to make a n-octanol/water ration of 0.2. This was agitated at 20°C for 2 hr. Both phases were then separated and filtered with Whatman No. 2 filter paper for analysis. The concentration of the chemical in the water and n-octanol phases was determined by gas chromatography with a 3-m X 2-mm glass column.
