First-aid measures

General information : Imeediate medical attention is required.

First aid measures :

- Inhalation : Remove person to uncontaminated area. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If not breathing, give artificial respiration.

- Skin contact : Wash skin thoroughly with mild soap and water. Take th einfected clothes and shoes off. Was them up before using them again.

- Eye contact : Rinse immediately with clean water for at least 15 min. Occasionally lift up the upper and lower eyelids.

- Ingestion : Do not induce vomiting. Rinse mouth with water (only if the person is conscious).

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media : dry powder, carbon dioxide, water spray, alcohol resistant foam.

Special hazards arising from the substance: carbon oxides

Protection against fire : If necessary, use an autonomous respiratory protection for the fire control.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions : Use proper personal protective equipment. Avoid inhaling vapors, fogs of pulverizing or gases. Ensure adequate ventilation.

Environmental precautions : Do not flush down sewers.

Clean up methods : Soak up with inert absorbent material and dispose of as hazardous waste. Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.

Handling and storage

Storage : Store in dry, cool and weel-ventilated area. Store in tightly closed containers. Carefully close all opened containers and keet upright to prevent leakage.

Handling : Avoid any contact with skin and eyes. Avoid inhaling vapors, fogs of pulverizing or gases. Normal measures for preventive fire protection.

This substance is handled under strictly controlled conditions in accordance with Reach regulation Article 18(4) for transported isolated intermediate. Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management system is available at each site. Written confirmation of application of strictly controlled conditions has been received from every downstream user of the intermediate.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Industrial hygiene : Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Wash hands before breaks and at theand of workday.  Emergency eye wash fountains and safety showers should be available in the immediate vicinity of any potential exposure.

Personal protection :

- Respiratory protection : When risk assessment shows that the use of breathing apparatus is appropriate, use a full face mask with versatile cartridge (US) or type ABEK (EN 14387). If the mask is the only protection, use a self-contained breathing apparatus with full face shield. Use material tested and approved by standards such as NOIOSH (US) or CEN (EU).

- Hand protection : Manipulate with gloves. Gloves have to be controlled before the use. Use a technique of withdrawal of gloves suited to avoid that the skins contacts the product. Throw gloves contaminated after the use according to the current laws and to the good practices of laboratory. Wash and dry hands.

- Skin protection : Impervious clothing. The type of equipment of protection must be selected according to the concentration and to the quantity of the product at work.

- Eye protection : Safety glasses with side-shields conforming to EN 166. Use equipment for eye protection tested and approved under appropriate government standards such as NIOSH (US) or EN 166 (EU).
