Conclusions:
The tests indicate that conversion reaction is directly influenced by the hydroxide concentration and in alkaline conditions (3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl)trimethylammonium chloride will convert primarily to 2,3-epoxypropyltrimethylammonium chloride.
