Description of key information

Flammability (EU method A.10): The test substance did not burn over a length of 200 mm within 4 minutes. The test substance is regarded as not being flammable.
Flammability in Contact with Water (EU method A.12): The test substance is regarded as not being flammable in contact with water.
Pyrophoricity (EU method A.13): The test substance is regarded as not being pyrophoric.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Flammability:

The test substance did not ignite until 2 minutes. The test substance did not burn over a length of 200 mm within 4 minutes. Therefore the full test programme (main test) was not carried out and the test substance is not classified as "highly flammable", according to Regulation (EC) No 440/2008, method A.10. The test substance is not classified as flammable according to GHS or EC 1271/2008 (CLP-Guideline) Annex 1: 2.8.

Flammability in Contact with Water The practical experience of the sponsor and the test facility shows that no gases are developed, when the test substance is in contact with water. The test substance is therefore regarded as not being flammable in contact with water according to GHS or EC 1271/2008 (CLP-Guideline) Annex 1: 2.12.

Pyrophoricity The test was not performed experimentally because practical experience exists at the sponsor and the test facility, e.g. when handling small amounts of the test substance repeatedly in air during testing. The test substance is therefore regarded as not being pyrophoric according to GHS or EC 1271/2008 (CLP-Guideline) Annex 1: 2.10.
